The duration of any dental treatment depends on several factors, such as the patient's own characteristics and hygiene habits.
However, we can state that ceramic crowns are a long-term treatment. In fact, they usually last around 15 to 20 years.

Despite the fact that, a priori, crowns made only of ceramic have more advantages, the truth is that metal-porcelain crowns may be recommended in certain cases.
For example, if the crown is to be placed at the back of the mouth, it may be a good option to choose metal-porcelain.

In dental clinics, the materials most commonly used to make crowns are porcelain - also called ceramic - and metal-porcelain.
The choice between one material and the other is fundamentally based on the type of tooth on which the crown is to be placed.

We use Porcelain Crowns to improve the esthetics and function of teeth when the degree of destruction of the tooth is sufficient so that a conservative treatment such as porcelain veneers or other partial reconstruction is not enough to restore the tooth. Specifically, we especially recommend this type of treatment on the following occasions:

• The shape or color of the tooth is not adequate.
• The tooth is fractured.
