When you visit our dental practice for the initial consultation, our dentist, Dr. Zarghouni, will screen the teeth thoroughly and understand the severity of your oral concern. We will take scans and X-rays of the teeth to get a better view and detect any damage to them. Once your need for a crown is confirmed, we will prepare the affected tooth for restoration.
A thin layer of enamel will be removed from it, which is done to make space for the crown. Next, scans will be taken to create a digital impression of the tooth, which will be used as a reference for fabricating the crown. We will have the crown fabricated in a few days in a dental laboratory, during which we will place a temporary crown on the prepared tooth.
Once the permanent crown is ready for bonding, we will remove the temporary restoration from the tooth and clean it thoroughly. The tooth’s surface will be roughened using an etching liquid, which enables the crown to adhere well to the tooth. Once the crown is bonded to the tooth, a bite test will be taken and the crown will be polished to enhance its aesthetics.
